At DEEPER we're constantly looking for ways to connect with one another throughout the week. Why? Well, let's be realistic, how well do you get to know people in an hour on the weekend at a church service? You don't!
We do have several small groups that meet at various times throughout the week. That's great if you live in the Apopka/Orlando area, but what if you don't, or haven't found a group to connect with? Well, we've thought of that, too! We have now built into our website ways to connect virtually with our community (and not just this blog!), and it doesn't require creating yet another login to keep track of!
Here's how it works. Do you already have a Gmail account? Yahoo? AOL (or AIM)? MySpace (login as www.myspace.com/username)? A Flikr account (login as www.flickr.com/photos/username)? Or heck, even a Blogger (login as blogname.blogspot.com) or Wordpress (login as username.wordpress.com) blog? Then you can jump right in! The service utilizes OpenID, which is a cross-platform login which many providers already use. Basically it means most people can sign right on without doing anything extra. For all the ways you can link up with Deeper, check out the OpenID Directory!
One exception is people using Hotmail (and NONE of the other services listed above), as Microsoft is still beta testing OpenID support for its Live platform (register your Hotmail account @ https://login.live-int.com). If you aren't able to register with Microsoft's OpenID testing with your Hotmail account, simply turn it into a Google account (does NOT require you to change to Gmail!) here: Google.com/accounts Just think of it as Google's version of the Windows Live ID.
After you join our site (seriously, takes two seconds) you can leave comments in certain sections of the site, rate/review our "Message" series, or pose questions for your fellow Deeper community. It's actually pretty cool!
So check it out and connect with us!
