God Loves Perfectionists, Too

Are you sometimes a little OCD?  Something of a perfectionist about…everything?  Or maybe you know some one who is so nit-picky that they are a pain to everyone (probably themselves most of all). In religion they will certainly find errors in your beliefs, the way you dress for church, and while they’re at it your relationship with God (or perceived lack thereof) and your attitude.

These people, as obnoxious as they seem to you, may be even harder on themselves. They endlessly pick over their own motivations, their own reasons for being. These are the types wanted Jesus to wash His hands even though they were not dirty (Matt. 15:1-11) and called Him a glutton and a drunk (Luke 7:33-34).

Their food is never cooked right; they think their clothes are too wrinkled and that their hair are always a mess.   These people can tell you what is wrong with everything at the drop of the hat. How miserable they are!   Perhaps you are one of these people.

But don’t despair!  The kingdom is even open to them, and there at last they will find something that satisfies their perfectionism. They will see God. And when they do they will find what they have been looking for, someone who is truly good enough.
